Position Description

Advertised Job Summary | The Dual Enrollment Coordinator represents the University of Salkehatchie Palmetto College to prospective high school dual enrollment students, parents and high school guidance counselors. This position is located on the Allendale and Walterboro campuses and covers an assigned geographic region in the state.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

Preferred Qualifications | Prior experience in student recruitment, public relations, or working with students in a high school or college setting is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and execute clear objectives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, adaptable to a wide variety of audience.

  • Willingness to travel and be available for some evening and weekend work.

Job Duties

  • Maintain healthy working relationships with our existing partner schools and organizations for dual enrollment as well as key stakeholders within USC Salkehatchie and Palmetto College. Conduct regular follow-up with our partnered institutions and organizations by phone, email, and in-person meetings. Use effective communication methods to convey pertinent information (updates, requests, deadlines) to appropriate stakeholders within and outside USC Salkehatchie. Set semester-based deadlines.   • Process all student admissions and records paperwork. Produce weekly reports on all existing and prospective partner schools and organizations. Process admissions and records paperwork for all new and continuing dual enrollment students. Submit LTAP paperwork to the Financial Aid Office to ensure funding is secured to all eligible students. Maintain organized reports on all partner schools and organizations, including pertinent enrollment figures, student information, district/school contacts, course/faculty information and semester schedules. Register all students into their select courses each semester. Essential Function | Yes Percentage of Time | 20
  • Serve as a liaison for prospective students through the admissions process and conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards. Adhere to all state and federal accreditation requirements, as well as the rules and regulations regarding student recruitment set forth by the University and Palmetto College.   • Develop new sustainable partnerships with high schools and organizations within the USC Salk service area and beyond for our dual enrollment programs. Identify potential partners for enrollment in USC Salkehatchie dual enrollment programs. Present enrollment opportunities in a positive and realistic manner to ensure all prospective schools and organizations fully understand the parameters and expectations of each partnership. Follow-up with prospective partners following all presentations and meetings to ensure they have all questions addressed and understand next steps in the partnership process. Develop, initiate, and lead outreach events to include dual enrollment orientations and Salk seminars for high school underclassmen, parents, and communities.   • Provide student advising and address conduct and academic issues with appropriate parties as needed. Inform students of poor academic performance and advise as appropriate in conjunction with Academic Affairs. Address student conduct issues in accordance with USC Salkehatchie and corresponding district/high school policies (as applicable). Provide updates to high schools and organizations (as appropriate) on all performance and conduct issues. Essential Function | Yes Percentage of Time | 10
