Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College seeks a Dual Credit Advisor to liaise with high schools on articulated and dual credit programs. You will support recruitment, advising, and matriculation of dual credit students while guiding families through college procedures.

You will report to the Associate Dean and collaborate with the Dual Credit team to coordinate courses, onboarding, and ongoing academic support for students transitioning from high school to college.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field is required with four years of related experience.
• Equivalent education or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Position emphasizes advising, collaboration, and student success.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Dual Credit Advisor serves as a liaison between the college and secondary schools for articulated credit, dual credit, and dual enrollment programs. Working collaboratively with high school administrators, principals, guidance counselors, and dual credit instructors, the Advisor supports the recruitment, application, advising, registration, and matriculation of dual credit students.

The Dual Credit Advisor provides students with information about college resources, monitors academic progress, offers individualized and group academic advising and guidance, and supports students as they transition to college following high school graduation. The Advisor also assists students and families in understanding college procedures and policies and responds to questions from students, parents, high school counselors, dual credit instructors, and other stakeholders.

The Dual Credit Advisor reports to the Associate Dean (AD) of Dual Credit.

Job Duties

• Advise prospective, new, and returning dual credit students regarding eligibility, enrollment, academic planning, college policies, and available resources.
• Support student onboarding, registration, orientation, and ongoing academic success through proactive communication and individualized assistance.
• Connect students with appropriate college and community resources and maintain documentation of advising interactions and interventions.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned high school partners, maintaining regular communication with administrators, counselors, and dual credit instructors.
• Meet with high school partners to plan annual course offerings, coordinate scheduling, and align dual credit opportunities with high school pathways and college credentials.
• Coordinate approved courses and instructors and support dual credit instructor onboarding in collaboration with the Dual Credit team.
• Collaborate with college departments to support timely application processing, enrollment, scholarships, billing, roster verification, and other dual credit processes.
• Support outreach and recruitment efforts focused on dual credit enrollment, retention, credential completion, and transition to college.
• Maintain accurate student and program information and assist with other dual credit operational needs.
• Support traditional advising during peak seasons as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Education, Counseling, or related field) and four-years related experience, or equivalent.
