Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Be empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience:

  • Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at.
  • Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members.
  • Answer questions regarding product and complete customer transactions through in-store sales or digital orders.

Be committed to the customer having a consistent positive experience:

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for internal and external customers, including cleaning and organizing the store and stockroom.
  • Receive inbound freight, prepare, and place merchandise on the sales floor, complete markdowns, and maintain stockroom organization.

Leverage in-store and digital services to bring the power of shoes to life:

  • Complete fulfillment functions, locate items, inspect products, and prepare for pickup/delivery.
  • Use company tools to check product availability and assist customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Prioritize the customer:

  • Process transactions accurately, handle money, and operate the register.
  • Partner with the Customer Experience Leader for escalated situations.
  • Follow all asset protection policies.

Bring fun and energy to the team:

  • Participate in team meetings and training.
  • Be receptive to coaching and support inclusivity.
Required Skills:
  • Availability to meet business needs.
  • Professional, friendly, customer-focused attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technology (register, iPhone, calculator).
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 100% of the time and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
Experience:
  • No previous retail experience required.
