Job summary

Simmons University is seeking Adjunct Faculty Mentors (AFMs) to provide small-group oversight for approximately 15 DSW program students. AFMs guide doctoral-level work readiness, help with performance transitions, and offer professional development options and considerations.

The DSW AFM appointment is non-tenure track, may be renewed, and is contingent on enrollment and program needs. Eligibility requires an MSW and doctoral credential or equivalent, plus prior teaching experience in the DSW

Qualifications

• MSW degree and also a social work doctorate, or one from a related field.
• At least one prior term of experience teaching in the DSW program.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to assigned students for the duration of their matriculation in the DSW program.
• Send introductory emails to new students after assignments and periodic emails during the term to address questions.
• Meet with mentees 2–3 times per term, individually or in groups, focusing on goal attainment and professional development.

Education

MSW degree and a social work doctorate (or related field)

Experience teaching in the DSW program (at least one term)
