Job summary

Simmons University in Boston’s Fenway area is seeking an online Section Instructor for the MSW program. The role requires delivering courses remotely, aligning with CSWE competencies, and actively monitoring student progress to support their success.

The ideal candidate holds an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, at least five years of post-MSW experience, and active clinical licensure. Doctoral degrees are preferred, with online teaching experience and NASW-ethics modeling emphasized.

Qualifications

• MSW from a CSWE-accredited program.
• PhD or DSW in Social Work preferred.
• Graduate level teaching experience preferred.
• Online teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach material from approved curriculum in accordance with the syllabus and course design.
• Plan and lead asynchronous discussions and didactic sessions.
• Assume responsibility for the academic supervision and teaching of enrolled students.
• Provide full coverage for all scheduled synchronous sessions/live sessions and notify the Associate MSW Program Director regarding any absences.
• Maintain and evaluate records of student performance within LMS grading systems.
• Provide constructive feedback on asynchronous and required assignments within 7-10 days.
• Respond to student questions within 24-48 hours with clarity and specificity.
