Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach is seeking a DSP - Shift Leader for the West Neck Intermediate Care Facility. This role requires 3+ years in a residential setting and prior shift-leadership experience.

A $3,000 hiring bonus is available for qualifying new hires, with shifts including nights and weekends. Eligible candidates have IPP familiarity, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor direct care staff.

Qualifications

• Requires any combination of education and/or experience above high school level.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
• Residential care or related field experience preferred.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with the QDDP to identify strengths and needs and develop training objectives for client(s).
• Function as Shift Leader to ensure 12 clients’ plans are executed timely and consistently; implement IPPs for 12 clients.
• Perform medication passes when needed and attend medical appointments/outings.
• Communicate with direct care teams, nursing staff, QDDPs, Recreation, day program staff, families/ARs and medical professionals.
• As Shift Leader, assess client needs and activities, guiding other direct care staff.
