Job summary

Gallagher Services, a Catholic Charities program, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for every other weekend shifts in Millersville, MD. You will assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily activities, while upholding dignity and independence and building meaningful relationships.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, community engagement, and supporting personal goals with a warm, trauma-informed team. Health benefits and PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and providing physical assistance.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines with care, promoting dignity and independence.
• Assist with meals and kitchen hygiene while supporting preferences.
• Be patient, respectful, and good in communication.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and build confidence and self-esteem.

PAY RANGE: $20.00-$23.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience)

Work Schedule: Every other weekend Saturday-Sunday 9 AM - 9 PM

• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
• Support people in preparing meals of their choice, encouraging healthy eating habits, andmaintaininga clean and comfortable kitchen environment—while promoting independence and personal preferences.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self

MinimumRequirements:

• Mustbe at least 21 years old

• Comfortable driving agency vehicles andassistingpeople who use wheelchairs
• Able tolift upto 75 pounds, stand forlong periods, and provide physicalassistancewhen needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
