Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Gallagher Services in Lutherville Timonium, MD. The role supports adults with developmental disabilities, helping with daily activities and promoting independence.

The position offers weekend shifts (Sat 10 AM – 4 PM) and pays $19 to $20.50 per hour, depending on experience. Join a trauma-informed program focused on dignity and personalized care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with driving experience.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and assist with mobility.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care with dignity and independence.
• Assist with meals, encourage healthy eating, and maintain a clean kitchen.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Advocate for rights and help build confidence and self-esteem.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 10 AM - 4 PM

HowYou’llSupport:

• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
• Support people in preparing meals of their choice, encouraging healthy eating habits, andmaintaininga clean and comfortable kitchen environment—while promoting independence and personal preferences.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

MinimumRequirements:

• Mustbe at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles andassistingpeople who use wheelchairs
• Able tolift upto 75 pounds, stand forlong periods, and provide physicalassistancewhen needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
