• No prior experience required, healthcare/direct care experience is a plus.

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1 to join our team. As a DSP, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those in your care. This position requires a strong commitment to ensuring the well-being, safety, and empowerment of those you serve.

Locations:

Sunbreak actively serves clients across across the Central Oregon region (Deschutes and Crook Counties) which continues to expand based on individuals served. We are looking for DSP staff willing to support clients in the La Pine OR area, with either FULL or PART-TIME positions potentially available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Follow behavior support plans.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships and enhancing their quality of life.
• Encourage and support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
• Ensure the safety and security of clients in all activities, including during transportation and outings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided, client progress, and any incidents or changes in client status.
• Collaborate with the client’s family, support team, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and support.
• Participate in training and professional development to stay current with best practices in the field of support services.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in direct care, healthcare, or a similar field is a plus, but not required.
