Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. As a DSP 'Level 2', you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those in your care. Locations:
We are looking for staff to support a specific client in Roseburg Oregon locations that has exceptional support needs, and as such offering a starting rate up to $26/hr if the candidate holds a current OIS certification and has experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Follow behavior support plans.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships and enhancing their quality of life.
- Encourage and support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Ensure the safety and security of clients in all activities, including during transportation and outings.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided, client progress, and any incidents or changes in client status.
- Collaborate with the client’s family, support team, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay current with best practices in the field of support services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in direct care, healthcare, or a similar field is a plus, but not required.
- Must be patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping others.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed.
- Must pass background check.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for certain positions.
