Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead to support individuals and families. You will develop and monitor plans, maintain client files, and ensure accuracy of records, including medications and progress notes.

The position requires a high school degree or equivalent, experience with disabilities, and valid driving credentials. A $2,500 hiring bonus is offered, with potential wage increase up to $17.50/hour after six months of consistent employment.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required.
• Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities required.
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training if required and CPR Certificate (may be obtained after hire).
• Mental Health Certification or other related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance is required.
• Driver's license required.
• Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required.

Responsibilities

• As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead, you will assist in the development and monitoring of individual plans and monitor client files to ensure completeness and accuracy, including medication administration records, progress notes, and relevant reports.
• You will ensure a safe and secure environment by noting any safety hazards and/or maintenance needs for the site and vehicles as well as address any unsafe situations that might arise.
• You will be required to maintain documentation, perform record keeping and participate in periodic meetings/trainings according to regulations.
