Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead to support development and monitoring of individual plans. You will oversee documentation, medication administration records, progress notes, and reports to ensure accuracy, while maintaining a safe environment for clients and staff.

Six months of consistent employment unlocks a wage increase to $17.50/hour, and a $1,500 hiring bonus is offered to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities required.
• Medication administration training may be obtained after hire.
• First Aid/ CPR may be obtained after hire.
• Mental Health certification may be required later.
• Background Study (BGS) clearance required.
• Driver's license required with clean MVR.
• Ability to read, write and use computer.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to recognize boundaries and maintain flexibility.
• Computer skills to support LSS technology.
• To be eligible for hiring bonus: meet conditions, stay trained, remain employed, work all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and monitoring of individual plans and monitor client files for completeness and accuracy (including medication administration records, progress notes, and relevant reports).
• Maintain documentation, perform record keeping and participate in periodic meetings/trainings according to regulations.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment by noting safety hazards and maintenance needs for the site and vehicles, and address unsafe situations.
