Job summary

The New York Foundling is seeking a DSP II to support residents in medical and behavioral settings. You will implement treatment plans, supervise daily activities, and coordinate with the clinical team to ensure safety and continuity of care.

Responsibilities include implementing behavioral support, maintaining records, and promoting community inclusion. A High School Diploma and NADSP certification are preferred, with CPR/First Aid beneficial.

Qualifications

• Education and certification requirements include a High School Diploma; NADSP certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with up to 6 points across NY/PA/CT/NJ states; CPR and First Aid are preferred.
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities, HIPAA confidentiality, and regulatory standards is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility support.
• Implement behavior support and monitoring plans; manage medical needs.
• Maintain accurate service records; ensure compliance with OPWDD and related standards.
• Facilitate community inclusion and participation in activities.
• De-escalate crises using approved plans; participate in Life Plan Meetings.
