Job summary

Colonial Behavioral Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) for our Residential Services team in Williamsburg, VA. The DSP II will support individuals with developmental disabilities, promote independent living, life skills, and community participation, and help develop personalized goals and activities.

Two full-time shifts are available; shift differentials apply for evening, overnight, and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Capable of performing physical requirements (lifting, bending, walking).
• Strong written communication and timely documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and update ISPs using person-centered approaches.
• Assess strengths, needs, abilities, and goals for independence.
• Provide direct support to help individuals achieve personal goals.
• Promote independence by encouraging choices and community participation.
• Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and the support team.
• Follow policies, procedures, and regulations while delivering safe, person-centered services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
