Job summary

St. Louis Arc is seeking Direct Support Professional Floaters to work across three or more group homes, providing coverage where needed most. DSP Floaters help residents with daily living skills, safety, and personal care as part of a collaborative care team.

The role offers varied weekly schedules and pays $24 per hour. You will support individuals with social engagement, follow individualized plans, transport to activities, and complete required documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in customer service, education, medical or human services—preferably supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license; auto insurance required at time of hire.
• Ability to work in residential/group home settings with individuals needing support.

Responsibilities

• Empower residents to live independently by assisting with daily living skills.
• Provide safety oversight according to policy and Individualized Support Plans.
• Support social and emotional well-being through outings and activities.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to implement plans (medications, dietary needs).
• Maintain understanding of each person’s plans and ensure correct implementation.
• Transport individuals to activities and appointments.
• Complete required documentation within deadlines.
