Atpeacehealth in Scranton, PA is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care to individuals with IDD in home and community settings. You will empower clients, promote independence, ensure safety and dignity, and collaborate with a supportive team.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, implementing BSPs, documenting progress, and accompanying clients to appointments. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights.

• Provide direct support with daily living activities and mobility.

As a DSP, you will play an important role in empowering individuals, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety, dignity, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation
• Implement individualized care plans and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs)
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities
• Provide reliable transportation as needed
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights
