Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency seeks a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. This role focuses on promoting independence, safety, and dignity while delivering compassionate, person-centered care.

The DSP will support daily living activities, accompany clients to appointments, document progress, and ensure confidentiality in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Direct Support Professional (DSP) required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation as needed.
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights
