Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will promote independence, safety, dignity, and well-being while delivering person-centered support.

Responsibilities include daily living support, documentation, transportation when needed, and collaboration with the team to implement BSPs and behavioral plans.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation as needed, document services, progress notes, and goals.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
