Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency in the United States is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, implement care plans and BSPs, and help with mobility, transportation, and appointments while maintaining dignity, safety, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation
• Implement individualized care plans and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs)
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities
• Provide reliable transportation as needed
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies
