Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

You will empower independence, ensure safety and dignity, support daily living activities, mobility, appointments, and community participation, and follow individualized care plans and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs).

Qualifications

• Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is required.
• Experience with Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation as needed; document services and progress.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies.

As a DSP, you will play an important role in empowering individuals, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety, dignity, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation
• Implement individualized care plans and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs)

• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights
