Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals in home and community settings. You will provide daily living support, encourage independence, and help implement BSPs to promote safety and dignity.

Ideal candidates have DSP experience, strong communication skills, and a compassionate, adaptable approach. Transportation ability, background checks, and reliable personal transport are required, with in-person, flexible scheduling

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) required.
• Experience with individuals with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individual rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation as needed.
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies.
