Job summary

AbleLight in Olathe, KS is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live their most independent lives. You will assist with daily living, mobility, health, and hygiene, and accompany residents to community activities and errands.

This role requires 18+, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a willingness to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess an active driver’s license in good standing with a clean driving record.
• Willing and able to pass a background check.
• Willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course.
• Embody patience, kindness, and a servant’s heart.
• Be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities.
• Accompany individuals while running errands and attending community events.
• Participate in outdoor walks, games, and social activities with residents.
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and daily living skills.

Schedule Available: Sunday-Thursday 2pm-10pm

Direct Support Professionals empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live their most independent lives possible by:

• Helping residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities


• Accompanying individuals while running errands


• Attending special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events


• Assisting our individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.


• Must possess an active driver’s license that is in good standing with a good driving record.


• Willing and able to pass a background check.


• Willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course (if you have this already, even better).
