Job summary

AbleLight is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible. DSPs help with dining, mobility, health and hygiene, accompany residents on errands, and participate in community activities.

The role requires pausing to ensure safety, compassion and a patient, supportive approach, with physical ability to lift 50 pounds and a clean background check. Training and CPR/First Aid may be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess an active driver’s license in good standing with a clean driving record.
• Willing to pass a background check.
• Willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course.
• Embody patience, kindness and a servant’s heart.
• Able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Help residents with dining, mobility, health and hygiene activities.
• Accompany individuals while running errands.
• Attend community occasions and outdoor activities.
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and desires.

Direct Support Professionals empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live their most independent lives possible by:

• Helping residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities
• Accompanying individuals while running errands
• Attending special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events
• Assisting our individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess an active driver’s license that is in good standing with a good driving record.
• Willing and able to pass a background check.
• Willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course (if you have this already, even better).
• Embody patience, kindness, and possess a servant’s heart and hands.
• Be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
