Job summary

AbleLight is hiring Direct Support Professionals for Hopkins, MN. The DSP will assist individuals with developmental disabilities, support daily living activities, and help them participate in community events.

Schedule noted as Monday–Friday, 6am–9am with on-site work in Hopkins. Applicants should be 18+, have a valid driver’s license, and be willing to complete required trainings and a background check.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Active driver’s license in good standing.
• Willing to pass a background check.
• Willing to complete CPR and First Aid courses.
• Able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dining, mobility, health and hygiene.
• accompany individuals on errands and community events.
• Support personal goals and activities to promote independence.

Direct Support Professionals empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live their most independent lives possible by:

• Helping residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities
• Accompanying individuals while running errands
• Attending special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events
• Assisting our individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess an active driver’s license that is in good standing with a good driving record.
• Willing and able to pass a background check.
• Willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course (if you have this already, even better).
• Embody patience, kindness, and possess a servant’s heart and hands.
• Be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
