Job summary

Arc GLOW in New York State is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide daily care and support for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in home settings. You will help with daily living activities, plan group activities, and participate in community outings, with starting pay of $19.25 per hour for part-time and full-time roles.

Per diem opportunities exist; daytime hours are 7:30am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday, with some evenings for staff meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with peers.
• Ability to use a computer efficiently.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily care to individuals with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
• Assists and encourages individuals to meet immediate personal needs.
• Assists with planning daily activities and participates in small-group activities.
• Engages in community inclusion activities and supports skill-building.
• Documents program data accurately and timely.
• Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
• Use various software platforms for job functions.
• Meal preparation.
