Job summary

Arc GLOW is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide daily care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in home and community settings. You’ll work with a team to assist with daily living skills, activities, and transportation as needed.

The role includes documenting data, supporting community inclusion, and using computer systems. Per diem and full-time schedules exist, with daytime hours 7 AM–3 PM Monday–Friday and occasional evenings for staff meetings and

Qualifications

• A valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record, per agency policy, and reliable transportation to and from work is required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
• The drive to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment.
• The ability to efficiently use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily care to the people we support with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
• Assists and encourages the people we support to care for immediate personal needs.
• Assists with planning daily activities and participates in the activities in small groups.
• Assists in varies community inclusion opportunities such as social events, volunteering, and to providing ways to work on skill building.
• Documents all program data accurately and timely.
• Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
• Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
• Meal preparation.
