Job summary

The New York Foundling in New York, NY is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support adults with developmental disabilities within the Developmental Division. You will help residents live as independently as possible through daily activities, health services, and skill-building opportunities.

You will monitor safety, assist with personal care, document progress, and collaborate with clinical staff to implement plans of care, administer medications as prescribed, and support community

Qualifications

• AMAP, SCIP, CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate supervision, health and safety of individuals; Implement Individual Plan of Protective Oversight.
• Advocate for individuals in the community (medical appointments, church, recreation activities etc.).
• Ensure individual's plan of care is implemented.
• Ensure that individual medication is administered as prescribed.
• Assist in daily living skills (e.g. personal hygiene, food preparation, house keeping, laundry, shopping).
• Remain on shift until your relief has arrived.
