Job summary

Association for Individual Development is seeking an Entry level DSP at the Bowes OShea Center in Elgin, IL. You will provide one-to-one support, engage clients in meaningful activities, and assist with daily living tasks under supervision.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, and involves working in health care settings with potential physical requirements. The organization offers benefits and a structured training path.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and good driving record.
• Complete DSP training within 120 days or already listed on Health Care Worker Registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support and supervision per plans.
• Engage clients in daily activities in various settings.
• Participate in all program activities and community outings.
• Maintain a safe environment and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with personal care tasks and teach independence.
• Document data sheets, incident reports, and attendance.
• Follow Implementation Strategies and Behavior Support Strategies.
