Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Alhambra, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting health, safety and well-being. Our DSPs advocate to improve overall quality of life for clients.

Shifts include Mon and Fri 6am-10am and Sat & Sun 6am-2pm; duties cover daily routines, personal care, meals, and transportation when needed. Requires DSP cert or willingness to obtain, 21+ yrs old, CA driver’s license, and successful background check.

Qualifications

• Must have a Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire
• First Aid/CPR and CPI certifications preferred or willing to obtain
• Applicant must be at least 21 years old and hold a California driver's license
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check and other requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily routines and activities as outlined in Individual Program Plans
• Support clients with basic needs including bathroom assistance
• Assist with clothing changes and meals, and help with cleanup
• Transport clients in company vehicles when needed

Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Hourly Rate: $18 - $19/hr.
Shifts Needed: Mon & Fri 6am-10am Sat & Sun 6am-2pm
Job Status: Part Time

Here’s What You’ll Do:

The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
• First Aid / CPR and CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver's License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
