Job summary

Everett Community College seeks an International Student Support Specialist to guide international students through college services and immigration requirements. As a Designated School Official, the role provides immigration advising and coordinates programs that support student success, retention, and participation in short-term international programs.

The position reports to the Director of Global Engagement within the Global Engagement department and may be eligible for hybrid work under the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in student services, advising, admissions, enrollment, or related program support.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status, as required to serve as a Designated School Official.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to operate College vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate SEVIS records and complete registration and reporting by federal deadlines.
• Advise students on F-1 status, enrollment requirements, travel, transfers, and practical training.
• Issue and update Forms I-20 and process travel endorsements and employment recommendations.
• Coordinate immigration compliance procedures and resolve SEVIS issues with the principal DSO.
• Support school certification, recertification, and Form I-17 updates with the principal DSO.
• Monitor academic progress and coordinate referrals with faculty advisors and campus services.
• Coordinate housing assistance and student concerns with Student Housing.
• Coordinate orientations, workshops, tours, and student activities with campus partners.
