Dakota Sioux Casino & Hotel is seeking a Gift Shop Clerk to deliver quality guest service in a convenience retail setting. You will manage sales transactions, assist customers, and help maintain a well-stocked, organized shop.

The role requires basic math, cash handling skills, and the ability to verify age for restricted products. This is a full-time, on-site position in Watertown, SD with opportunities to cross-train for the C-Store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Twenty-one (21) years of age required.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
• Operate cash register and handle payments by cash, credit card or Player's Club card.
• Verify and maintain cash bank amount throughout shift and stock shelves as needed.
• Track inventory and communicate with Retail Manager regarding inventory needs.
• Ensure guests meet age requirements for purchases (18 for energy drinks, 21 for tobacco/alcohol).
• Cross-train for the C-Store and perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISES: None

GENERAL FUNCTION: The Gift Shop Clerk position is responsible for providing quality service to guests of Dakota Sioux Casino & Hotel and assist in efficient operations of the Gift Shop.

Duties And Repsonsibilities

• Provides quality customer service in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
• Possess basic math and cash handling knowledge.
• Operate cash register.
• Receive payment by cash, credit card or Player's Club card
• Verify and maintain cash bank amount throughout shift.
• Stock and merchandise shelves as needed.
• Track inventory and communicate with Retail Manager regarding inventory needs.
• Sanitization of high traffic areas.
• Ensure all guests are of applicable age to their purchases; i.e. must be eighteen (18) to purchase energy drinks and twenty-one (21) for tobacco and alcohol products.
• Cross-train for the C-Store.
• Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum Qualifications

Twenty-one (21) years of age.

Other

Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must complete Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) training. Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire.

Physical Requirements

Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more. Ability to carry up to twenty (20) pounds on a continual basis. Ability to push or pull merchandise on a cart, dolly or two-wheeler. Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Occasional janitorial duties.
