Job summary

Eataly Boston is seeking a Dry Market Assistant Manager to lead daily front-end and retail operations in a high-volume, guest-focused environment.

This full-time role reports to the General Manager of Retail and oversees Front End Leads and Grocery Manager, driving merchandising, inventory control, staffing, training, and execution of retail initiatives to maximize guest satisfaction and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 3+ years of retail or grocery management in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with Italian products and wine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Front End and retail operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and efficient store performance.
• Lead, train, coach, and support team members including hiring, scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee cash office functions, including transactions, deposits, and maintaining sales records.
• Approve voids, returns, exchanges and employee discounts per policy.
• Monitor and order Front End supplies to maintain business continuity.
• Assist in merchandising and inventory management including product rollouts and pricing support.
• Analyze financial and operational data to improve sales, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
• Investigate and resolve employee and guest concerns while complying with policies.
• Collaborate with store leadership to meet operational and customer service goals.

Responsibilities

Report to the General Manager of Retail and Corporate Retail and assisted in overseeing daily front-end and retail operations to ensure exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance with company standards. Directly managed the Front End Leads and Grocery Manager, providing leadership, coaching, scheduling support, and performance management. Collaborated with department leaders to support merchandising, inventory control, staffing, training, and execution of retail initiatives across the store while maintaining high standards for product quality and the overall guest experience.

• Supervise daily Front End and retail operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and efficient store performance.
• Lead, train, coach, and support team members while assisting with hiring, scheduling, payroll, performance evaluations, and employee development.
• Oversee cash office functions, including processing daily cash and credit transactions, preparing bank deposits, documenting overages and shortages, and maintaining accurate sales records.
• Approve voids, returns, exchanges, and employee discounts in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor and order Front End operational supplies to maintain business continuity.
• Assist in merchandising and inventory management by creating product lists, coordinating product rollouts and phase-outs, and supporting pricing and promotional strategies to maximize profitability.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify opportunities for improved sales, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
• Investigate, document, and resolve employee and guest concerns while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with store leadership to achieve operational, financial, and customer service goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall store operations.

Salary for this role: $70k-$80k

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3+ years of retail or grocery management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Exceptional leadership, motivational and team-building skills
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office
• Experience with Italian products and wine strongly preferred
