Job summary

Eataly North America is opening a new Houston store and seeks an experienced Store Retail Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations, drive guest satisfaction, and achieve financial targets across departments.

The role requires 5+ years in high‑volume retail, strong leadership, and expertise in merchandising, inventory, and labor planning. Onsite schedule with flexibility and collaboration with cross‑functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive retail or grocery management experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Experience leading multiple retail departments through a team of managers.
• Strong understanding of retail financial metrics, merchandising, inventory management, and labor planning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Italian products and wine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the day‑to‑day retail operations of the store, ensuring departmental goals, operational standards, and financial objectives are achieved.
• Executes retail business plans and operational initiatives established by store and company leadership to drive sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
• Leads, coaches, and develops direct reports while fostering accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Partners with department managers to coordinate daily operations, resolve operational challenges, and strengthen collaboration across the store.
• Monitors sales, labor, inventory, shrink, and margin performance, identifying opportunities and implementing corrective actions to improve results.
• Ensures merchandising, promotional programs, pricing, inventory management, and product assortment plans are executed consistently and in accordance with company standards.
• Maintains high standards of food safety, sanitation, visual merchandising, inventory accuracy, and operational compliance throughout all retail departments.
• Collaborates with Culinary, Restaurant, Warehouse, Facilities, Marketing, and Human Resources teams to support overall store performance and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Supports workforce planning by assisting with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for retail leadership positions.
• Reviews operational and financial performance with the Store Director and develops action plans to improve departmental results.
• Responds to guest concerns and employee relations matters promptly, partnering with the Store Director and Human Resources when appropriate.
• Serves as the senior retail leader on duty, providing direction and operational support during daily business and peak periods.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Store Retail Manager

The Store Retail Manager oversees the daily retail operations of an Eataly store, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and an exceptional guest experience across all retail departments. This role provides hands‑on leadership for the retail business by driving operational execution, developing managers, and ensuring company standards are consistently achieved. The Store Retail Manager reports to the Store Director and partners to execute business priorities and support overall store performance.

Job Requirements

Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and move continuously for up to 8 hours.

Ability to operate equipment such as a slicer, pasta machine, or cash register as needed.

Availability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually
