Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Dry Etch Process Engineer for the Albany, NY site. You will build, optimize plasma etch processes for next-generation memory devices, working hands-on with etch equipment, chamber hardware, and metrology, and collaborating with integration, lithography, and manufacturing teams to scale processes to high-volume production.

The role requires advanced degrees in EE/Materials/Physics/Chemistry or BS with semiconductor processing experience, plus experience in DOE

Qualifications

• M.S./Ph.D. in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• B.S. with 3+ years in semiconductor processing acceptable.
• Experience with DOE planning and statistical data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and sustain dry etch (plasma) unit processes for memory technologies.
• Optimize CD control, etch profile/anisotropy, selectivity, microloading, uniformity.
• Drive defect reduction and yield improvement using inline/out-of-line metrology, DOEs, SPC, and statistical data analysis.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process excursions, tool health issues, and integration‑related failures.
• Partner with equipment vendors on chamber matching, hardware and recipe development, new capability evaluations, and cost‑of‑ownership improvements.
• Document process baselines, change controls, and learning; communicate results and support the transition of technology to large‑scale production
