Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine is seeking an experienced Drug Screen Coordinator for our Baton Rouge, LA site. The role focuses on accurate drug screen collections, documentation, data entry, and cross-team support in a fast-paced occupational health environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating collections, communicating with clinics and laboratories, maintaining records, and ensuring privacy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of related experience in drug screen collection, occupational health support, account coordination, customer service, or healthcare administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • DOT collector training upon hire; maintain required retraining thereafter.

  • Perform drug screen collections in accordance with procedures, client requirements, laboratory instructions, chain-of-custody, and regulatory standards.
  • Verify donor information, complete collection forms, prepare specimens for shipment or processing, and maintain documentation.
  • Enter, update, and maintain information in systems, portals, databases, spreadsheets, and client records.
  • Monitor drug screen activity, pending results, and follow up on missing documentation.
  • Communicate with client, clinics, laboratories, vendors, employees, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support timely completion of services.
  • Maintain organized files and support reporting and tracking as assigned.

Position Overview

The Drug Screen Coordinator is responsible for performing drug screen collections and supporting daily administrative and account coordination responsibilities. This position ensures collections are completed accurately and in accordance with applicable procedures, maintains complete and timely documentation, enters and tracks information in the appropriate systems, and supports the client, employees, laboratories, clinics, and internal team members through responsive communication and follow-up.

Essential Functions
  • Perform drug screen collections in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, laboratory instructions, chain-of-custody requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Verify donor information, complete required collection forms, prepare specimens for shipment or processing, and maintain accurate collection documentation
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate information in applicable systems, portals, databases, spreadsheets, and client records
  • Monitor drug screen activity, pending results, missing documentation, expired authorizations, and other open items that require follow-up
  • Communicate with the client, clinics, laboratories, vendors, employees, and internal team members to answer questions, obtain missing information, resolve discrepancies, and support timely completion of services
  • Assist with account representative responsibilities, including service coordination, client follow-up, issue tracking, documentation review, and escalation of concerns when needed
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper files, scan and upload documents, verify records for completeness, and support reporting or tracking needs as assigned
  • Protect confidential information and follow company expectations related to privacy, accuracy, professionalism, and client service
  • Maintain supplies and materials needed for drug screen collection and administrative support functions
  • Participate in required meetings and training and perform other job-related duties as assigned consistent with the scope of the position
Position Qualifications

Bilingual (English & Spanish) candidate preferred.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Drug screen collector training preferred but not required
Experience
  • One to three years of related experience in drug screen collection, occupational health support, account coordination, customer service, data entry, or healthcare administration preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required; intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
Licensure And Certifications
  • Complete DOT collector training and obtain required drug screen collector certification upon hire; maintain certification and any required retraining thereafter
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Ability to meet applicable client-site access and credentialing requirements
  • Ability to meet company and client requirements applicable to assigned drug screen collection, administrative, and account support responsibilities
