Qualifications

• NJ-licensed pharmacist or NJ-registered nurse; MSN preferred.
• 5–10 years in nursing or pharmacy in acute/subacute care.
• 3–5 years in healthcare compliance, clinical or pharmacy operations, or drug diversion prevention.
• ASHP/IHFDA certification within 18 months of hire.
• Compliance certification within 24 months of hire.
• Proficient in automated dispensing systems (Omnicell/Pyxis) and EHRs.
• Strong communication, investigative, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in overseeing the enterprise-wide drug diversion prevention program.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in drug diversion prevention and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze and apply federal/state laws, regulations, and guidance to operations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and enforcement trends.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits across care settings.
• Monitor data from dispensing systems, EHRs, and diversion software to identify risks.
• Lead investigations of suspected diversion incidents with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure investigations are well-documented and compliant with confidentiality requirements.
• Provide regulatory guidance to leaders on policies and controls.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor program effectiveness.
• Research best practices and enforcement actions to strengthen the program.
• Develop and deliver education programs on diversion prevention and reporting obligations.
• Collaborate with leadership to report to regulatory agencies when required.
• Coordinate Drug Diversion Committee meetings and follow-up.
