Responsibilities

• Manages complex drug, medical device, consumer product, and/or product liability matters from inception through resolution with minimal supervision.
• Develops and executes litigation strategies, drafts pleadings, motions, briefs and discovery responses for depositions and hearings.
• Analyzes complex scientific, medical and factual evidence, working with experts to develop trial-ready arguments.
• Manages all discovery aspects, coordinating with eDiscovery professionals and vendors.
• Communicates with clients regarding case status, strategy and risks; supervises and delegates to associates and other legal staff.

Overview

• Manages significant aspects of complex drug, medical device, consumer product, and/or product liability matters from inception through resolution, taking ownership with minimal supervision.
• Develops and executes litigation strategies, drafts substantive legal work (pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses), and prepares for/participates in depositions, hearings, oral arguments, and mediations.
• Analyzes complex scientific, medical, technical, and factual evidence to translate into persuasive legal arguments, working closely with expert witnesses and consultants on case development and trial preparation.
• Manages all aspects of discovery, including developing case-specific strategies, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and coordinating with eDiscovery professionals and vendors.
• Communicates directly with clients regarding case status, strategy, risks, and significant developments, and supervises, mentors, and delegates assignments to associates and other legal professionals.
• Contributes to trial preparation and, as appropriate, trial execution.
• Preferred experience includes managing asbestos or talc litigation, a strong aptitude for emerging legal AI tools (document review, analysis, eDiscovery), and experience with federal and/or state court litigation, with MDL experience being a plus, as is IN state court trial experience.
