Barnes & Thornburg LLP in New York seeks an experienced trial attorney to manage significant aspects of complex drug, medical device, consumer product, product liability, and toxic tort litigation from inception through resolution with minimal supervision.

You will develop litigation strategies, draft pleadings and motions, coordinate discovery, and participate in depositions, hearings, and mediations, while guiding associates and communicating with clients about case status and developments.

Overview

• Manages significant aspects of complex drug, medical device, consumer product, product liability, and toxic tort litigation from inception through resolution with minimal supervision.
• Develops and executes litigation strategies; drafts substantive legal work including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses; and participates in depositions, hearings, oral arguments, and mediations.
• Analyzes complex scientific, medical, technical, and factual evidence; manages discovery, coordinating with eDiscovery professionals; and collaborates with expert witnesses and consultants.
• Supervises, mentors, and delegates assignments to associates and other legal professionals; communicates directly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and developments.
• Requires a strong aptitude for emerging legal AI tools for document review, analysis, and eDiscovery.
• Experience managing asbestos or talc litigation and experience with federal or state court MDL are preferred.
• Involves contributing to trial preparation and execution, with prior trial experience preferred.
