Job summary

Tempest Droneworx in Houston, TX is seeking an energetic Entry-Level Drone Technician to support assembly, maintenance, and testing of drones and related equipment.

You will solder wires, build wiring harnesses, design basic components with Fusion 360, operate 3D printers, and assist with installing motors and controllers. Qualifications

  • Hands-on soldering experience required.
  • Strong cable-management and wiring skills.
  • Experience with R/C aircraft, R/C cars, or similar hobby electronics.
  • Experience with Fusion 360 and 3D printing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and keen attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with initiative.
  • Eagerness to learn new tools, systems, and technologies.
  • Adaptable, dependable, energetic in a fast-paced startup.
  • Clean record; able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, maintain, and repair drones and related equipment.
  • Perform soldering on wires, connectors, and electronic components.
  • Build and organize wiring harnesses with proper cable management.
  • Design and modify basic components using Fusion 360.
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers.
  • Assist with installation of motors, flight controllers, radios, cameras, etc.
  • Test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain organized tools, parts, batteries, and work areas.
  • Document builds, repairs, inventory, and testing in Office Suite.
  • Support demonstrations, field testing, and other projects.
  • Take on diverse responsibilities based on project needs.

Position Overview

We’re looking for an energetic, adaptable, and hands-on Entry-Level Drone Technician to support the assembly, maintenance, and testing of drones and related equipment.

This position involves a variety of technical and operational tasks, making it ideal for a self-starter who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new skills. The right candidate will have a strong interest in drones, robotics, electronics, and rapid prototyping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, maintain, and repair drones and related equipment
  • Perform soldering on wires, connectors, and electronic components
  • Build and organize wiring harnesses using proper cable-management practices
  • Design and modify basic components using Fusion 360
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers

  • Experience flying FPV drones

Pay Range:

$45,000-$60,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
