Job summary

Amazon's Prime Air division seeks a Liaison Engineer to join the Structures and Payload team under Drone Fleet and Production, supporting manufacturing and assembly operations on the production floor. You will be the first line of defense for non-conformances and work with Design Engineering to drive design updates that improve quality and lower costs.

The role requires balancing engineering judgment with analytical rigor, collaboration across teams, and experience in aerospace or hardware

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hardware design and validation experience.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD and best practices for part design and advanced assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Review and disposition non-conformance events related to drone hardware (including vehicle structure, payloads, and electromechanical assemblies) that may occur during procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and integration.
• Serve as the first line of defense on the production floor, providing real-time engineering support to the Assembly and Test organization.
• Develop standard repairs, rework procedures, and propose Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements that improve quality and reduce cost.
• Partner with Design Engineering teams to translate production findings into actionable design updates.
• Conduct root cause investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain disposition templates and analysis methods to address common non-conformances efficiently.
• Drive process updates and improvements to work instructions in collaboration with Manufacturing and Quality teams.
