Job summary

Amazon's Prime Air is seeking a Field Operations Engineer to support the drone fleet within the Drone Fleet and Production organization. You will investigate performance, lead cross-functional improvements, and develop hardware designs to improve reliability and customer experience.

The role emphasizes strong communication, collaboration across engineering teams, and data-driven problem solving to drive continuous improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent (preferred).
• Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.
• Experience communicating technical concepts using clear visuals.
• Experience working across cross-functional teams and partnering with people at all levels.
• Experience with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Investigate drone system performance for anomalies, deliver solutions to operations and maintenances teams.
• Lead cross-functional system investigations with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to optimize performance metrics.
• Develop innovative hardware designs for emerging drone systems and improve existing hardware.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights to establish benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations and vendors for product launches and sustaining.
• Develop and maintain documentation for technical procedures.
• Communicate strategies and results to senior leadership and partners.
