Job summary

Quantum-Systems in Bavaria is seeking a visionary Software Architect to define, own, and evolve end-to-end architectures spanning embedded systems, ground control software, and cloud platforms for our drone technology.

You will collaborate with the Lead Software Architect, mentor agile teams, ensure security and performance, and drive innovation across software layers while translating business needs into technical solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of professional software development experience.
3+ years in a Software Architect or leadership role.
Strong experience with embedded systems, real-time software, or IoT.
Cloud platforms and distributed systems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Proficiency in C++, Python, Java or similar.
Knowledge of design patterns, architecture styles, and system integration.
Experience with Scrum or Kanban.
Excellent German and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Define, own, and evolve end-to-end software architectures for embedded, ground, and cloud.
Collaborate with the Lead Software Architect on strategy and direction.
Guide agile teams on architectural best practices and decisions.
Ensure consistency, scalability, security, and performance across layers.
Evaluate emerging technologies and potential adoption.
Support integration between airborne systems, ground stations, and cloud infra.
Create and maintain architectural docs and specs.
Conduct code and design reviews for architecture compliance.
Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions with product management.
