Job summary

Infravision is seeking an Operations Engineer to serve as a key link between engineering, R&D, and field operations. This hands-on role focuses on the design, modification, maintenance, and field integration of mechanical, hydraulic, and ground-based systems enabling drone-enabled powerline stringing in demanding utility environments.

You will work across product development and field execution, translating concepts into practical, safe equipment solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience or strong interest in mechanical/hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with CAD; ability to read/modify drawings.
• Willingness to travel and work onsite/field environments.

Responsibilities

• Support concept development and design of robotic ground hardware.
• Design, modify, and maintain mechanical/hydraulic systems for drone-enabled stringing.
• Develop maintenance protocols for field equipment.
• Create rope management systems integrating tech with field methods.
• Oversee fabrication projects and hardware QA.
• Use CAD and docs to communicate design solutions.
• Collaborate with field teams to ensure safety and durability.
• Troubleshoot field issues and provide practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Communicate with engineering, R&D, operations, and suppliers.
• Travel to support field operations and testing.
• Support other startup needs as assigned.
