Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, seeks a highly hands-on Hardware Technician to support rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and lab improvements across engineering spaces. You'll operate SLA and FDM printers, assist mechanical assembly, and keep labs organized and productive.

The role involves moving between labs, fabricating parts, and assisting engineers in a fast-paced environment. Strong hands-on printing, tooling, and assembly experience are essential, with familiarity in lab optimization

Qualifications

• Hands-on 3D printing experience with SLA and FDM systems.
• Experience with shop tools and fabrication equipment.
• Mechanical assembly experience, preferably with drone hardware.
• Ability to setup and improve lab environments.
• Comfortable standing and moving between labs and tasks.
• FAA Part 107 certification within 60 days encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain 3D printers and manage materials.
• Fabricate and finish parts for rapid prototyping.
• Perform mechanical assembly of drone hardware.
• Install and maintain lab infrastructure (benches, shelving, test equipment).
• Keep shared lab spaces organized and functional.
• Move between labs to support engineering teams.
• Identify and execute high-priority tasks in a fast-paced lab.
