Job summary

Skydio is seeking a highly hands-on Hardware Technician to support rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and lab improvement across multiple engineering spaces. This role focuses on operating and maintaining SLA and FDM printers, supporting mechanical assembly, and keeping labs organized and functional.

You will spend most of your time on your feet—moving between labs, fabricating parts, assembling hardware, and supporting engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on 3D printing experience with SLA/FDM printers.
• Proficient with shop tools (saws, drill presses, sanders).
• Experience in mechanical assembly of drone hardware.
• Experience setting up and organizing lab spaces.
• Willing to stand and move between labs and tasks.
• Familiar with lab operations and consumables.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Fusion.
• FAA Part 107 certification within 60 days is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain 3D printers, troubleshoot and handle materials.
• Fabricate parts for rapid prototyping using shop tools.
• Assemble drone hardware and related systems.
• Install and maintain lab infrastructure and benches.
• Keep labs organized and functional.
• Move between labs and tasks to support engineering teams.
• Identify and execute top priority tasks in a fast-paced environment.
