Job summary

Skydio, a leading US drone company, seeks a Product Design Engineer to design, prototype, test, and refine the mechanical systems enabling camera modules to perform reliably. You will work hands-on with camera components, collaborating with mechanical, optical, electrical, reliability, and manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong background in mechanical design, prototyping, and testing of physical products.
• Experience with CATIA and 3D CAD for camera hardware components.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models and production-ready drawings for camera parts and assemblies.
• Support mechanical design and integration of camera modules, sensors, and thermal solutions.
• Design and build prototypes to evaluate new concepts and architectures.
• Develop test jigs, fixtures, and measurement setups for development and validation.
• Perform tolerance analyses and document test methods and results.
• Prototype with 3D printing, CNC, and hands-on assembly; collaborate across teams.
• Support FEAs, test planning, and data interpretation to drive corrective actions.
