Job summary

Top Echelon Software LLC is seeking a mechanical engineer to join our hardware development team in San Diego. The role focuses on owning the full lifecycle of ruggedized enclosures and drone integration products, from concept through manufacture.

You will prototype rapidly with in-house 3D printing and travel for field tests as drones are deployed in real environments. The position includes designing drone attachments and ensuring modules meet harsh field conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design of ruggedized enclosures.
• Ability to own full lifecycle from concept to manufacture.
• Experience with drone hardware is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee manufacture of Dongle Cases, Bridge Boxes, and ruggedized electrical enclosures.
• Specify, source, and customize swarm packaging solutions including Pelican cases and precision foam inserts.
• Design, test, and manufacture drone attachments and physical modifications, from simple brackets to actuated mechanisms.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on mechanism design, prototyping, and field validation.
