Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop transmission systems for Medium Wheel Loader applications. The role supports NPI, CPI, cost reduction, field issue resolution, and factory support, working with gears, bearings, shafts, seals, and other rotating drivetrain components.

The engineer will create and modify 3D models in Creo, release designs through Teamcenter, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with global teams including manufacturing, validation, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with transmission, drivetrain, powertrain, or engine component design.
• Proficiency with Creo or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience working with rotating mechanical components such as gears, bearings, shafts, or seals.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and engineering drawings in Creo and release designs through Teamcenter.
• Support design reviews and component development for transmission and drivetrain systems.
• Investigate field and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and present findings and recommendations.
• Evaluate manufacturing deviation requests and determine appropriate disposition of nonconforming components.
• Provide engineering support to the East Peoria manufacturing facility for transmission assembly and test activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, validation, procurement, supplier quality, and controls engineering.
• Research and evaluate new drivetrain technologies to support future product development.
