Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is hiring a Class A Yard/Plant Driver to support yard and dock operations in Saint George, Utah. You will move and park trucks and trailers, perform pre/post trip inspections, and help with inventory and loading/unloading using forklift or pallet jack.

Expect to follow all DFA safety and DOT regulations, maintain accurate logs, and participate in ongoing driver workshops. A valid Class A CDL (tank endorsement if needed) and DOT compliance are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Tractor/trailer experience preferred within the last five years.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Meet all DOT requirements.
• Meet Dairy Farmers of America Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
• Certification and/or License - Current CDL (Class A) license; tanker endorsement if needed.

Responsibilities

DFA is hiring a Class A Yard/Plant Driver to join their team!

General Purpose

Drive truck or tractor at vehicle parking, yard or docking areas to move, position or park trucks and trailers to facilitate shipping and receiving functions. Transport trucks and trailers for repairs, as necessary, according to policies and procedures and safety protocols. May also operate wash bay using all necessary equipment to clean tractors and trailers. Keep the yard neat and orderly.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform trailer movement according to prioritization to optimize plant or warehouse efficiencies and production needs
• Hook, unhook and move trucks to and from the service department and around dock area
• Spot or position loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading
• Connect loaded semitrailers to tractors for the drivers
• Maintain accurate trailer and inventory movement log
• Load and unload trailer via forklift or pallet jack
• Receive inventory
• Detail orientated
• Follow steps to ensure proper operation and perform periodic preventive maintenance including pre and post trip inspections of equipment in the area
• Perform duties required to ensure that assigned area is sanitary and clean
• Wash exterior of trucks and trailers if appropriate for yard location
• Complete sales route deliveries and/or over-the-road routes, as needed
• Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity and accidents and injuries
• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Tractor/trailer experience, within the last five years preferred

• Certification and/or License - Current CDL (Class A) license in state of residence; current tanker endorsement if needed
