Job summary

Center For Family Services is seeking a reliable Driver / Support Worker for Nourished Neighbors in Essex & Passaic counties, NJ. The role involves food access, pantry operations, market setup, distribution, and administrative support.

The position requires driving 3+ years, a valid license, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and basic data entry along with strong interpersonal skills. A sign-on bonus and organization-provided ServSafe training are offered.

Location: Essex and Passaic Counties, NJ

Job Type/Status: PartTime (Expected to work days, some evenings and possibly weekends to meet the needs of families in the vicinity.)

Salary: $20 per hour

Position Summary:

The Nourished Neighbors is seeking a reliable Driver / Support Worker to assist with food access, pantry operations, community pop up markets, food distribution, transportation, and administrative program support across our Essex & Passaic counties.

This position will provide hands-on support with food handling operations, including setup and breakdown, pantry organization, food pickup and transportation, as well as administrative support that helps maintain accurate and organized program operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and breakdown of food markets, including tables, food, supplies, and equipment.
• Support pantry operations, including organizing, stocking, packing, and moving food and supplies.
• Assist with loading and unloading food and program materials.
• Support food pickup and transportation using a company vehicle when needed.
• Assist with the safe handling, storage, organization, and distribution of food.
• Provide administrative support, including inventory tracking, pontenitaly basic data entry, organizing information, and other administrative tasks related to Nourished Neighbors operations.
• Help maintain accurate inventory and distribution records.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe pantry and distribution environment.
• Provide respectful and professional support to community members and program participants.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, transportation, and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for work-related duties.
• Ability to lift and carry 50-70 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and perform physical tasks associated with pantry and food distribution operations.
• Basic computer and administrative skills, including the ability to complete basic data entry and maintain organized records.
• Reliable and dependable with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Commitment to treating community members with dignity and respect.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for up to 2 hours.
• Ability to bend, lift, walk, and carry up to approximately 50 pounds as required for program operations and food distribution activities.

Food Safety Certification

ServSafe certification will be provided by the organization. Previous food-handling experience is preferred but not required.
